Velocerate Ventures was founded in 1999 as a new business incubation firm, and then resurrected in 2007 after years of starting new businesses, personal adventures, and the desire to share information with others going through what we have already. The company's founder, Sean Smith, came from 10 years in the high tech industry working for a Fortune 100 company, where his experience ranged from Purchasing to Logistics to Sales and Marketing, Engineering and Design, and Management. He started by managing computer networks and left after managing an $80M semi-conductor business line. This broad background and the need for more independence led to the creation of the 2 companies highlighted on the reference page. Since 2001, these companies have become market leaders and makers in their respective industries.

The company was initially founded as a Venture Capital (VC) - Light, with the emphasis on providing help to companies that did not want to lose control by going to a traditional VC. The model still holds true today, however the change is simply further up stream, more toward the beginning of the processes and focusing on the individual or small company. From its early days of making these for fun to the present day supplying to internet resellers, 50+ regional decorative hardware stores, and 1000+ big box stores across the US. With the products very mature, we continually review custom work and new business opportunities with new companies. Significant experience in both internet and traditional sales and marketing, local manufacturing, product and material sourcing, assembly and test.

After a few years of hard work and taking the right steps, it has become the largest independent supplier of interlocking eva flooring in the US. Still under development, we are reviewing and launching new products.
